Meet the Pennsbury Region 3 School Board Team

Jennifer Spillane, Candidate for Pennsbury School Board

Jennifer Spillane has lived in the Pennsbury School District for 14 years. She has four 4  kids who have been in the district and are current students at Edgewood Elementary and Charles Boehm. Jennifer has over 10 years of experience working in the education sector both at the college level and at the middle school level. Jennifer currently works in a private K-12 school in Princeton as the marketing/communications manager, which provides her first-hand experience of how other schools have handled the pandemic. Previously, she worked for Princeton University, as a writing teacher at Bucks County Community College, and as teacher in Washington, D.C. for kids with learning and emotional needs.

Jennifer’s goal as a member of the Pennsbury School Board is to make sure that students and parents have a voice and will be heard. Jennifer is committed to serving with transparency and honesty, fighting for the concerns of her neighbors and community, and making the best decisions for the district. She wants to improve the school district by pushing for accountability in spending and fighting for taxpayers, keeping taxes in check, highlighting the benefits of Bucks Tech High School, and securing the best teachers, administrators, and staff to educate our students to become kind, caring, thoughtful citizens.

Personal Note
I would like to see the enhancement of security at all the schools in the district. As a former physical security professional there some things which should be put in place to better protect students and staff. Also, I want to promote other alternative career paths after high school such as the trades and the armed forces. As a grandson of a US steel worker who was a WWI veteran, I am also an Army veteran. I truly believe the military is a great path for young people after high school. I want to build a great partnership with the Bucks County Technical School and local trades organizations so students can have a different career opportunity which pays extremely well and gives them a trade to support themselves.

  • High School Personal Note

I grew up in Lancaster County, PA and now reside in Fairless Hills with my wife of eighteen years and three children, all of whom are in Pennsbury Public Schools. We have two children in high school and one in middle school. I’ve spent the last twenty years working in the trades and currently work in maintenance at a retirement community.

I’m passionate about pushing to have an IEP program that is the best in Bucks County. I think we need a return to common sense in decision making that’s not based on fear but on simple and practical solutions for our children. I’m also passionate about Pennsbury School District not taking any more of our hard earned money than necessary and will oppose any and all tax increases.
